The stick figures look very angry with a bit of dispare mixed in to me. Were you upset when you made it?

The other one reminds me of the art on my music apprication textbook.

Thank you for shareing with me. I will continue looking at your other stuff. :)

I would be interested to hear the story behind the stick figures, very interesting piece and they do look a bit disgruntled.

Lovely ballerina's...sweet and simple piece.

The first one is intriguing and the second is lovey - I like how you've used light on the skirts.

the stick figures do seem ominous until you know the title
"doo whop street musicians acapella
Voices that mack you sigh and cry and giggle. that is how these groups formed in the way way back.

I love the second one - it's simple, yet thought-provoking... I never saw anything interesting about ballerinas, but you captured it!

Doo Whop is a perfect name for this group!

Your use of shadow and light with the ballerinas is striking.

You did a great job of showing posture with your stick figures. Very nice! And the dancers are beautiful.

Both are good. I would be curious what the first one with the stick figures would look like without the door/window's in the background and on paper that was landscape. There's something really communicative about them and I think it's great as is but I am curious if the piece would be even more powerful with just a line to denote they are sitting on the floor, etc. Good work on both!

Both are great, but my favourite is the second :-)

I like the second too-but that's just a style preference for me. I did like the combo of colors you used for the stick figures.

I'm partial to the ballerina's. Love the etherealness of them.

About Me

arcadia, florida, United States
My name is Sherrie and I hate computers!!! It has taken me all day to get this far in putting together a blog site so i can share my work in some of the challenges. I'm in my 50's and am from Fort Worth, Texas. I was a member of LRY (if you don't recognize the title ignore it) and many of the people I met there are major influences in my life. I am short and round and am feeling my years but not all in bad ways. I find I like mentoring young people and am finding my grooves in my art, finally! The women in my family tend to figure things out later in life. I live in a rural area in Florida and really enjoy it here. I'm trying to put together a studio in my shed out back but it is slooooow going.Out here in the sticks there has been a new surprise every month so far for 2 years. A new flower blooms, a crepe myrtle thought dead blooming, finding a passion flower vine, or the huge FAIRY HOLE in my great big live oak out back. We made it thru the eye wall of hurricane Charley in '04 and are getting it together finally. Now that I am not working at retail any more I am finally working with my creative side, which unfortunately hasn't paid as well, but is so much more satisfying.
